The Biden-Harris Administration has made a concerted effort to invest in the energy communities that have powered our nation for generations, pouring billions of dollars into initiatives that create jobs, lower costs, and drive historic economic growth. And with the support of initiatives like the Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization, these communities are gaining access to the resources, funding, and technical assistance they need to make their clean energy dreams a reality.

As I reflect on my journey, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and optimism about the future of rural America. These are the places that have always been the backbone of our nation, and now they’re poised to become the beating heart of our clean energy revolution.
From energy efficiency upgrades to community-owned solar farms, from resilient microgrids to electric vehicle infrastructure, the tools and the know-how are all there.
