The inverter is connected to your shutter and then plugs directly into any outlet in your home/office. The inverter translates the DC power the sun produces into the AC power that your home or building uses.

The inverter not only changes the current from DC to AC, but also matches a building's electrical system. That means that the grid tied inverter makes it so that the electricity produced by the shutter speaks the same language as the electricity in your building or house.

For wind turbines, this inverter must be used as an extension with the wind starter kit (UWT-I-250 Starter Kit).
