David Curran, COO and founder
Born and raised i
n Bailey, Colorado, company co-owner, David Curran’s desire to invent and create started with an early obsession with MacGyver, the TV series. This passion has carried him into a successful launch of his first co-invented product and well on his way to success. With his newly minted degree from Ohio Wesleyan in his back pocket, David came to California to test the creative waters. After a short hiat
us for some soul searching, during which he traveled across New Zealand, Australia, and India, he brought his talents to San Diego to settle for a while.
When David is not hard at work you will find him on a surf board, hanging out, planning his next trip, or clinging to the side of a mountain.
Dan Curran, CFO and founder
Dan Curran, lifetime inventor and entrepreneur, has owned, operated, and guided manufacturing companies for the past 24 years. His passion for creating products with a purpose has driven the last 10 years of his life. He, along with his son David, created the PV Solar Shutter, to
solve to a common problem – how do urban dwellers and renters move to alternative energy production? Dan believes that their next product will be even cooler.
When not inventing you will find Dan hiking, hunting for rock art, on the golf course, the beach, or scuba diving… somewhere in the world!
Bennet Newman, Director of Sales and Marketing
Bennet joined the Plug ‘N Save team in September of 2010. After earning his B.A. in Economics Management from Ohio Wesleyan University, Bennet spent a year and a half working and living in Washington, D.C. before moving to Southern California to join the Plug ‘N Save team.
Bennet enjoys exploring what it means to be sustainable in today’s marketplac
e. He loves being a part of a small sustainable business and believes that true innovation starts in the eco-minded small business world.
The move to Southern California has also created new hobbies to enjoy in his free time; the biggest of those being the art of surfing. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, the idea of surfing in the vast Pacific Ocean was a fantasy. While there is still MUCH room for improvement, the thrill of the surf is the perfect place to unwind and clear a clouded mind.
Todd Ufferman, Director of Operations
Todd was b
orn on a small farm in central Ohio and from an early age learned about sustainable farming. It was this early experience with responsible living that led to his interest in renewable technology and eventually to Plug n’ Save energy Products.
While studying at Ohio Wesleyan University to earn his B.A. in Economics Management, Todd spent time as a lawn irrigation specialist, spent two years in the banking industry, and later worked as a real estate appraiser.
Since joining Plug ‘N Save Energy Products in the September of 2010, Todd has explored sustainable living solutions and how “green” technologies can prevent further dependence on fossil fuels. He hopes to be able to bring renewable energy solutions to a larger audience and help people learn more about the importance of sustainable living.
Todd is always on the move, either mountain biking, swimming, or playing soccer. Outside of the office he has been both a youth swimming and soccer coach and donates free time to a local park acting as a volunteer patrol member.
